This guide assists players of Escape the Backrooms from level 0 to level 92233720368547707. This is more of a recap of every level than a guide on how to beat them, however a few helpful hints are strewn throughout.

Intro
Only two or three sentences are included in each section of this tutorial. This was written late at night on a noisy keyboard, so the fact that I wrote so much is impressive. Regardless, rely on the omitted items. DO NOT TRUST THE UNFAMILIAR LETTERS. If the sentences sound... unusual, you should not rely on them. ALSO, enjoyment goes from 0-5. NOT 0-10.

LEVEL 0
This floor is a vacant office with yellow walls and carpet. The lights buzz and create weird noises, which causes the player uneasiness. Your objective is to locate a ladder leading to level 1 in order to outrun the monster. This ladder appears at random, so best of luck locating it.

LEVEL 1
Time: 1-5 minutes. This is a parking garage with grey concrete floors and bright passageways. When blackouts occur, these corridors provide refuge. These blackouts may occur every 3 to 7 seconds and continue for approximately 5 seconds. The halls with light are very spread out, and the exit is on the opposite side of the spawn area.

I would suggest setting the rendering distance between 8 and 15, based on the amount of RAM available. If you desire a more terrifying encounter, though, you can decrease the value below eight.

In levels 0 through 2, meditate every 30 seconds. Meditation assists in maintaining mental health. As your sanity decreases, the likelihood that more adversaries will spawn around you will increase. So maintain a keener watch on your Sanity bar.

Checking detailed information (using H) is quite beneficial. You can view your health, sanity, and endurance without the need to meditate or heal. If you want a more realistic experience, though, you should disable it.

Have sugar on hand while you are fleeing from an enemy. As the stamina meter depletes, you must wait for it to replenish by remaining still. Maintain a minimum of three sugars at all times.

Also, strewn throughout the levels will be notes. To trace the notes, stoop and engage in conversation (Left Ctrl and E). The notes are a non-interactive aspect of the game.

Also note, never. And I mean NEVER stand on a trap door that reads ">FUN" with numerous smiley faces. Because if you do so, you will torture yourself to death.
